Biography

Greg Anderson is an influential American musician and co-founder of Southern Lord Records. He is the guitarist in the doom/stoner metal outfit Goatsnake, but is also well known for his collaborations with Stephen O'Malley. Together they have participated in projects such as the short-lived death/doom metal band Thorr's Hammer, the extreme doom metal band Burning Witch (although Anderson left before the band could record an album), as well as the drone doom metal bands Sunn O))) and Teeth Of Lions Rule The Divine. Earlier in his career, Anderson was involved with the straight edge hardcore punk band Brotherhood, and the rock/hardcore band Engine Kid. Recently, he has joined Attila Csihar and Oren Ambarchi in a new drone doom project called Burial Chamber Trio.

Gentry Densley - a Salt Lake music pioneer – is founder and guitarist of the band Iceburn.

As Densley’s musical tastes evolved from prog-rock, punk and hardcore to a more improvisational rock sound, so too developed the music of the band. Later versions of Iceburn went even further, blending free-jazz, noise and rock into 20 minute anthems of aural experimentation. Densley is also a member of Eagle Twin and Smashy Smashy.

Both musicians have been making music that's crossed paths several times in the last 19 years(!!!). The most notable being during the 90's when Andersons’ band Engine Kid toured with and shared a split album with Densleys’ band Iceburn. During that time both were heavily experimenting with the fusion of jazz (Mahavishnu Orchestra, Miles Davis, John Coltrane) and the dark behemoth tones of influences such as The Melvins, Gore, Slint, and Caspar Brotzman.
