Electrice continues where the Living Contact album left off; recorded, mixed and edited entirely by her, the album features four pieces all recorded in the same key and with the same tuning. While some might see such an approach as unneccesarily restrictive, for Carter it represented a new way of looking at the songwriting process, with its own unique benefits and character. The album explores seemingly innumerable ways to twist and turn the same scales and notes into new shapes, growing into an organic, hypnotic whole that feels both repetitious and dynamic. With Electrice, Christina has created the most cohesive and fully-realised record of her unique musical vision to date.
