Biography
It has been Michael’s music. Coupled with the lyrical style of David Tibet, that has helped establish Current 93’s international reputation for producing some of the most challenging, profound and influential works in contemporary music. Through working with Current 93 Michael has also recorded works with Antony and the Johnsons, Nick Cave, Mark Almond and many others.
Over the years Michael has become an influencial figure through his guitar playing technique and musical compositions, and with the album SLEEP ENGLAND he has produced new definition within his unique compositional style. Incorporating only electric and bass guitars, the album consists of twelve new and previously unreleased tracks that combine to form a singular and very personal work of simple yet profound expression. This album is essential to fans of both Current 93 and Nature and Organisation and should appeal to fans of artists such as Jack Rose, John Fahey and Bert Jansch.
