JAPANESE DOOMSDAY 2001

The Japanese Doom assault is coming!

*From the Land of the Rising Sun, Japan's answer to Black Sabbath: Church of Misery. After several cult Eps, and many compilation appearances, Southern Lord is proud to make available the DEBUT ALBUM from Japanese Sabbath freaks: Church of Misery. Obsessed with a combination of Serial Killers and Black Sabbath, Church of Misery unleashes a raw, primitive slab of twisted riffs and brutal hooks.

*Lyrically and image wise influenced by Macabre and Whitehouse. Sound wise influenced by Sabbath, Sleep, Trouble, Blues Creation and Saint Vitus.

*Choosing to dodge common Stoner Rock-trends, Church of Misery have created a very dark, original debut album that will quickly establish them as a contender in the heavy music scene.

*Featuring the amazing guitar destruction of Tomohiro Nishimura. ( Already one of Japan's highly revered guitarists). Iommi-burnt riffs and head-splitting leads. Lyricist and low end mangler: Tatsu Mikami plays the meanest Wah-bass heard since Holy Mountain era Sleep. Vocalist: Yoshiaki Negishi has a throaty yell not unlike Lemmy, "Ripping Into Pieces" any melodic outbreaks. Blistering DOOM hacking away while wardrums beat beneath
