JAPANESE DOOMSDAY 2001
The Japanese Doom assault is coming!
From
the Land of the Rising Sun, Japan's answer to Black Sabbath: Church
of Misery. After several cult Eps, and many compilation appearances,
Southern Lord is proud to
make available the DEBUT ALBUM from Japanese Sabbath freaks:
Church of Misery. Obsessed with a combination of Serial Killers
and Black Sabbath, Church of Misery unleashes a raw, primitive
slab of twisted riffs and brutal hooks.
Lyrically
and image wise influenced by Macabre and Whitehouse. Sound wise influenced
by Sabbath, Sleep, Trouble, Blues Creation and Saint Vitus.
Choosing
to dodge common Stoner Rock-trends, Church of Misery have created
a very dark, original debut album that will quickly establish them as
a contender in the heavy music scene.
Featuring
the amazing guitar destruction of Tomohiro Nishimura. ( Already one
of Japan's highly revered guitarists). Iommi-burnt riffs and head-splitting
leads. Lyricist and low end mangler: Tatsu Mikami plays the meanest
Wah-bass heard since Holy Mountain era Sleep. Vocalist: Yoshiaki Negishi
has a throaty yell not unlike Lemmy, "Ripping Into Pieces"
any melodic outbreaks. Blistering DOOM hacking away while wardrums beat
beneath
