In the spirit of painstakingly documenting the roots of heavy music, Southern Lord presents the first digital documentation of San Francisco's 80's Thrash-Punk legends Clown Alley. Clown Alley were a punk rock/hardcore band whose sound and aesthetic got swept up in the intense Thrash- Metal crossover mania of the mid- 80's. Clown Alley was formed in the mid-80's by 4 bay area punks including New Mexico hardcore heroes: Jerryz Kids, Dave Duran. Of particular note are Clown Alley members: Lori Black and Mark Deutrom who both went onto play bass in the Melvins during the 80's and 90's.
