What did you do for Millenium New Year? Well, whatever it was, it couldn't have been as good as this. For one night only, on December 31st 1999, Fantomas and the Melvins conjoined to form The FantomasMelvins Big Band, surely the greatest supergroup ever formed. Together they put together a set of songs, drawing from each others work and proceeded to decimate the songs. And then it was all over - this is the only documentation of that night.. The FantomasMelvins Big Band... it's all things at once- over and over and over, so forget everything you know about anything. This album is truely a monsterwork as brought to you by Mike Patton's Fantomas and someone else's Melvins. The two greatest destroyers of mediocrity in the history of rock face off in an awesome, earth-shaking bone-breaking fight to the finish. Not a soul left standing and no one left to cry about it either. Dont miss it. It must be heard. It must be owned. The recording took place at Slim's in San Francisco, California. The recording that you hear is in fact two separate recordings mixed together - one recorded directly onto DAT from the house desk and another from a bootleg made by one of the lucky few who managed to witness this spectacle. |
