A follow up to 1999's debut Fantomas was going to have to be something special and indeed they have created a record so astounding it puts lesser mortals firmly in their place. Lovers of the first album will know that Fantomas have a strong cinematic influence and the band have taken this one stage further: rather than release a record of their own material, Fantomas made an album of interpretations of some of the greatest film scores ever written. Drawing principally on the dark horror films of the 1960s and early 19070s, this album veers between deep rumbling scariness and full-on utter terror. Each track has been decimated then re-built in Fantomas' own imitable way to create a work so dramatic, beautiful, gory, terrifying and just downright loud that one can only use one adjective to sum it up - genius!
