%@#$!!? Brace yourself, supergroup Fantômas is back with a vengeance on their fourth album SUSPENDED ANIMATION. Unlike the epic DELIRIUM CORDIA, SUSPENDED ANIMATION likens itself with Fantômas' first record (IPC 1 Fantômas - S/T) punctuated with cartoon escapades. The first edition (LIMITED TO 25,000) is a spiral bound 30 page eye popping package illustrated by world famous Japanese painter Yoshitomo Nara. The theme is a calendar, the month of April, the tracks appropriately named the days of the week. (Trivia: April 1st is Ipecac Recordings 6th birthday, the release of IPC 1 Fantômas - S/T.) 30 miniature holidays in 43 minutes, there's a page for each day.

SUSPENDED ANIMATION perfectly captures the band at the peak of their creative journey. The vision and pin-point precision of this record is phenomenal, and more than succeeds in replicating the same visceral humour and dramatic menace their live performances seethe with. Simply astounding.
