"My mom, in fact, was born in 1944," says former Rodan
guitarist Jeff Mueller about his new venture, June Of '44. "and
Sean's grandfather was in the war of '44."
The band's name actually refers to author Henry Miller's letters to
his wife June and his affair with writer Anais Nin, and features
Mueller, Sean "Heavy" Meadows (also in Lungfish), Fred Erskine (Hoover and The Crownhate Ruin) and
Doug Scharin (Codeine, Rex, Him). Meadows and Mueller
each had songs they'd worked out and over a mere three-and-a-half weeks
of practice, the quartet had a complete set of songs heavy on dynamics
and atmospheres.

in June '95, and was followed by two more albums and an e.p. Over a year
and a half after the last album came out in January 1998 be prepared for
the newest, Anahata, out June 7th, 1999.

Jeff Mueller and fellow ex-Rodan member Jason Noble have a new
