Karp is the band that, as one journalist wrote, "posseses the kind of
energy that most metal bands have wet-dreams about", and that, well
that is probably true. By their record company's own admission, they
are the spawn of K records nether-regions.
Karp don't look like they could particularly do one any irrevocable
harm, you may even laugh a little at their dress-sense but, to hear
them... this is undiluted, noxious, cerebrally-antagonising metal.
Karp are musical-meningitis. It will swell the lining of your brain
and sever your spinal-cord. But even though you may not be able to
walk, talk or think straight for some time after listening to this
trauma-inducing band, you will recover - or then again, perhaps you
won't.
Karp have already been asked to record for virually every label in the
Pacific Northwest (Kill Rock Stars, Atlas, Punk In My Vitamins, Face the
Music and of course K records.) They have also notched up a two month tour
supporting Beck. 1997 sees the release of their latest album for K, so look
out for them in a town near you soon!
