'Omns' is Lichens second full-length and was concieved with the idea of it being a continuation of The Psychic Nature Of Being. Recorded as a one-time improvisation without overdubbing, it follows a natural progression through using slightly different processes of recording and editing. The five tracks on the album reveal the mesmeric Lichens live performance as Lowe extends and mutates his singing, adding acoustic and electric guitars and percussion in layers that accent the vocal drones.

Accompanying the CD is a DVD containing a 28-minute live recording from a performance in Chicago in 2006. All Lichens live shows are individual events and are not mere duplications of previous performances, this performance is a unique snapshot of one of these mesmeric shows. The film was directed and produced by Mary Scherer and edited by Todd Mattei.
