First release by Brighton's Lonely Ghosts is Don't get lost or hurt, a musical mish-mash of electronic beats, strings and synths. Musically broader and more personal than Denney's previous output in Help She Can't Swim, Don't Get Lost or Hurt sees electronic beats and casio keys rubbing shoulders with classical instruments and sweeping string sounds. Stylistically and emotionally the record veers from the uplifting romantic build of Happy lovers / Friends forever to the desperate electro-punk abandon of The Unpopular Future and the down beat loneliness of album closer Hole in the sky and its climactic washes of droning synths, piano and tape noise. Don't Get Lost or Hurt also features contributions from guest musicians, including Help She Can't Swim band mate Leesey Frances and label mate / touring partner The Tumbledown Estate.
