BIOGRAPHY Minor Threat were an American "hardcore" or "punk" band, whatever you might chose to call it, from Washington DC. They played together pretty much all over the States from 1980 to 1983, when they broke up.

The band's personnel was BRIAN BAKER on bass, IAN MACKAYE on vocals, LYLE PRESLAR on guitar and JEFF NELSON on drums. They were joined in 1982 by STEVE HANSGEN who played bass for a period, during which which BRIAN switched to guitar.

Since the break-up of MINOR THREAT, Jeff Nelson has played in Egg Hunt, 3, Senator Flux and High Back Chairs. Ian MacKaye has played in Egg Hunt, Embrace, and still plays in Fugazi. Both Ian and Jeff still run the Dischord label. Brian Baker has played in Dag Nasty and Junkyard; Lyle Preslar has played in the Meatmen; Steve Hansgen has played in Government Issue, Modest Proposal, Weatherhead and many others.
