Hiding just beneath the surface of this ostensibly light-hearted record - in contrast with the title, songs about zombie terrorists and crack-smoking aliens, and the preposterously silly album art - is a savage and articulate (if somewhat surreal) political agenda, anti-Bush, pro- choice and riot grrrl to the core. With the eleven tracks clocking in at under 20 minutes, Partyline waste no time in putting Christian, male, corporate America to rights, and have some serious fun in the process. Produced by former Q and Not U frontman Chris Richards, this record is packed with fuzz-pop hooks and witty lyrical asides. Politics has never been so much fun.
