April 91

A team meeting of three-fourths Snailboy convene and it is understood that Tim Mescher (bass) must be replaced and given his space to buy cigarettes and brownie mix, so that he and his girlfriend can smoke, eat and giggle their fucking asses off for all eternity. Enter Luke Frantom.

"Sometimes Al will pull really queer shit on the band. Like this one time, he thought it clever to begin all of the band's songs with the same letter... 12 songs with titles that began with the letter A and 12 with B and so on down the alphabet. I mean that's dumb shit... right? He can get pretty stupid and be thinking "This is fucking brilliant!"... what a moron" ---Mark

August '91

Sympathy for the Rcord Industry releases "Spoo Heaven" single, from the Vig recordings. 1200 or so were pressed and sold. "Kooter and the Boy" wheel their way to the front cover and sit curiously in wheelchairs amidst a wilderness background... Umph.

October '91 Snailboy becomes SHORTY. (Yeah, it took two months to come up with the name SHORTY.)

May '92

Worry-Bird Disk out of Atlanta released the "Last One in my Mouth is a Jerk" 7inch. And although I nor anyone else has seen a single copy near a record store, we are confident in knowing that it is out there somewhere. ahem.

December '92

Bovine Records out of Madison, WI put out some of SHORTY's earlier demo recordings done with Steve when he still had the eight track. th single entitled "C'mon" contains the hits "Nigger Hat" and "Dynamite Lover".

April '93

Gasoline Boost, a German label under the guise of X-Mist Records, released the "Thumb Days" LP. The initial pressing was 3500 and sold out before its release date. The record was distributed by Cargo and Caroline her in the States. Recorded by Albini ove on Francisco Ave.

July '93

Mark Fischer of SKIN GRAFT courts the band with a plate of mashed potatoes and a second-hand blender. the result is the "Kaput!"/"Hot For Teacher" single and comic set. Kooter and the boy find their way onto the cover, this time in full color and with a twelve page comic documenting their adventures.

April '94

SHORTY tours Europe for a month. oof.

June '94

The newest release, "Fresh Breath" is given birth. A five son EP in the 10" vinyl, CD and CS formats, with artwork by Dekalbian Kurt Kiesel and SHORTY's Mark Shippy. The artwork plays out the drama involved in the battle for fresh breath with the Tomato, the Garlic, the Mint Leaf, the Bug, Kooter and the Boy in their respective roles. And the music reflects this struggle, which was again recorded with the aid of Mr. Albini.
