For 'Book Of Bad Breaks' the Thee More Shallows trio take a minimal approach to Dee Kesler’s precisely arranged, near-orchestral post-pop. The band began the record’s construction with little more than a $50 Casio keyboard, a distortion pedal and an acoustic guitar. Anticon’s very own Odd Nosdam contributed breaks and beats (and violin and French horn segue between songs) as drums and electric guitar were also brought in. The results are of course spectacular.
