THRONES is the solo project of Joe Preston. You know you are in for something special when you consider his musical legacy. He played bass on the founding fathers of drone EARTH's 'Extra-Capsular Extraction' in 1991. A year later he was playing bass in MELVINS, lending his talents to two of their recordings. He also played guitar in THE WHIP, with former members of KARP, as well as stints with SUNN O))) (on two of their albums as bassist/vocalist/drum programmer), THESE ARMS ARE SNAKES (with ex-members of Hydrahead's legendary hardcore band BOTCH). Joe is currently playing bass with Relapse artists HIGH ON FIRE that features Matt Pike (ex-SLEEP), one of the fore-fathers of the modern doom scene, with a North American tour scheduled with Swedish prog-metal heroes OPETH and US bruisers LAMB OF GOD.
