CHOPS are a wild damaged dance band from Leeds. The group hit the ground running
through 2007 hellbent on perfecting their spontaneous combustion of jazzoid excess and
lock-popping party bombs. After amassing multiple PA-systems into their live setup the
band embarked on a series of ear-bleeding shows across the country, allowing their
improvised chaos to solidify into the unpredictable genre-warping curiosities we hear from
the band now.
Helhesten are a three-headed sonic blitz. Employing clarinet, beat-up guitar, effected- voice and a variety of percussion, Helhesten craft an aching flux of soaring and swamped- out sounds. Whether the band are in the throes of a frenzied onslaught or an equally ravaged accumulating pastoral jam, they never escape the tranced-out web which holds them together as much as it pulls them apart.
