Metal/math/no-wave/free noise/punk/jazz trio, Zu continue their relentless non-stop touring of Europe, smashing their way through musical boundaries and listeners' skulls. Since 1997 they have built an enviable reputation for sonic ferocity, hypnotic complexity and visceral attack. Their last release, and their debut on Ipecac, Carboniferous is a prime example of rock, jazz and noise co-existing without compromise, featuring guest appearances from King Buzzo (Melvins) and Mike Patton. For all those hoping to make an appearance at Supersonic this year, also on the line-up are our Midwich folk queen Nancy Wallace, and The Accused (who recently signed to Southern Lord).
